A Rotarian planning the shave off of his Santa beard believes it could have more ‘hair value’ due to the latest lockdown measures. For Peter Love, member of Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club, will now be looking to raise even more funds for his chosen charity Midlands Air Ambulance.
Following the announcement of the new lockdown, which means the beard shave now cannot take place until the middle of February at the earliest, he said today: “I am more than willing to patiently wait. During winter my beard can now continue to keep my face warm and hopefully the extra growth – it is now already longer than I can ever previously remember – will result in more donations for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. I started growing the Santa beard during the pandemic last summer to perform sleigh and school attendances and I am now keenly prepared to keep it growing and growing……it really could be the most valuable beard ever to be shaved off! If anyone would like to eventually have the hair for wigs for people needing them following health problems – if this is allowed under the current coronavirus – they only have to get in touch.”
He added: “In the meantime, I think I have a valuable piece of estate attached to my face!”
