Santa Sleigh ready for action

Santa Sleigh ready for action

We will be touring the area between 1800 and 2000 as follows:

11 December: Sundorne

12 December: Mount Pleasant and Harlescott

14 December: Sutton Farm and Meole village

15 December: Meole Brace

17 December: Shawbury village

19 December: Monkmoor

21 December: Gains park, Copthorne and Radbrook

The Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club Santa sleigh will shortly tour the town’s streets to bring some festive cheer in these unusual times. Unlike previous years when we have parked outside supermarkets and also stopped regularly on evening tours, we will just be out and about in the evenings giving children in particular the opportunity to see and wave to Santa. With safety in mind we regret that we will not be stopping to allow contact between rotarians, Santa or members of the public.

Rotary supports a number of local charities and this year’s events have depleted our funds more than ever. With limited opportunity to ask for bucket donations this December we are asking our generous residents to visit our website www.shrewsburyrotary.co.uk and click on the ‘Donations’ tab. All contributions will be gratefully received and we can assure you that every penny goes directly to carefully selected needy causes.

Alternatively, donations can be made by text:

To donate £1 text  SANTASHREW1 to 70085

To donate £2 text  SANTASHREW2 to 70085

To donate £3 text  SANTASHREW3 to 70085

To donate £4 text  SANTASHREW4 to 70085

To donate £5 text  SANTASHREW5 to 70085

or any amout up to £20 by putting the amount after SANTASHREW!

Texts cost the amount donated plus one standard message charge.

Examples of the projects we support can be found by scrolling down this news section and include several local food hubs, assistance with the education of primary school children, food hampers for the elderly, flood relief and help for the homeless.

Thank you for your help.

Julian Wells
