ROTARY SUPPORTS UKRAINE WITH SHELTERBOX

Our Rotary club has agreed to further support the people of Ukraine by purchasing a ShelterBox at a cost of £590.

Members of Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club decided that a ShelterBox would be an emergency response and a practical solution to the urgent needs of a homeless family in Ukraine.

The club believe that emergency shelter is vital for moving people in overcrowded camps and collective centres to a more private space. In addition, the ShelterBox provides urgently needed equipment, including a tent, to support a family who has lost everything. Last month members unanimously agreed to a donation of £2,000 to support the Ukraine refugee crisis ‘as urgently as possible.’

The Ukraine donation is being made through the Rotary Foundation of the United Kingdom Disaster Response Fund. This allows for the addition of 25% gift aid on eligible donations meaning that a £1 donation becomes £1.25.
