Children at a Shrewsbury primary school are to receive Rotary support in time for their imminent return to the classroom. Items of PE kit and shoes in particular will be allocated through a donation to The Grange School by our Club.
The club has agreed to a donation of £1,000 to help parents, facing the cost of living crisis, purchase some of the more expensive parts of the overall school uniform. Said Rotarian Kerry Ferguson, Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club’s youth officer and school governor: “Back to school is a time when, this year in particular, parents will be struggling to kit out their children for the return. In the past we have supported The Grange School with a hardship grant to help disadvantaged families and I am grateful to Rotarians for the latest donation in these very difficult times.”
Head teacher Charlie Summers said: “This is fantastic, thank you so much to Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club. This will make such a difference to the pupils at the Grange.”
