A Rotary club which has donated £250 to support a college awards scheme has been invited to the ceremony. The annual Shrewsbury College Group’s Star Awards are being run again this month and Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club is continuing to provide financial support which it has done since the inception of the scheme in 2017.
The awards recognise achievements by students invariably gained in tandem with difficult personal circumstances. Members unanimously approved the donation at their last Zoom meeting and consequently they have been invited to the event at the London Road site in Shrewsbury on the afternoon of June 24.
If the ceremony is permitted to take place the awards will be presented by John Law, president of Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club.
