Children who find themselves in a ‘refuge situation’ within Shropshire and neighbouring Staffordshire will be given a toy box to open on Christmas Day – thanks to Rotary.
Members of Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club have agreed to purchase 10 toy boxes – two more than they donated last year – to the Rotary district appeal.
Each toy box will be worth £25 and will be given to children who find themselves in a ‘refuge situation’ at Christmas due to a family breakdown, domestic violence or homelessness.
In response to a further request for support from Crucial Crew for funding for their annual event at Nesscliffe Barracks next June, Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club has again agreed to a donation of £300 – a similar amount to last year.
