ROTARIANS TOLD LANCASTER BOMBER TO FLY OVER SHREWSBURY

The most famous and successful RAF heavy bomber, the Avro Lancaster, one of only two airworthy Lancasters left in the world, is to fly low over Shrewsbury at a forthcoming event.

Weather permitting at 1.45 pm on May 26 the ex-World War Two bomber will be in full view of spectators at the Krazy Kart Races in Shrewsbury Quarry. The announcement was made by Krazy Kart Races organiser Sarah Belcher in a talk to Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club who will provide stewards for the event which was set up in 2018 and re-launched in 2022 following the pandemic.

She told Rotarians that some 22 teams will take part in the Quarry event which last year raised £120,000 for charities. A further highlight of the event will be a display of Ferrari and Lamborghini cars along the bottom of the Quarry.

Every type of Italian vehicle is being invited to the display which is also being promoted by the Ferrari Owners Club and the Lamborghini Club UK.  Interested parties should contact David Morris on either 07773 537564 or at djmfastforward@hotmail.co.uk
