LOANS TO THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES FARMING ENTREPRENEURS

Our Rotary club’s latest loans to entrepreneurs in Third World Countries are all farming related. An update to a Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club Zoom meeting by international chair Chris Allsop has revealed the distribution of seven loans, each of £60, to Cambodia (three), Rwanda (two), Ecuador (one) and Peru (one). All the loans were for farming related activities.

At the end of January Lendwithcare repaid £51 of loans with £446 being available to lend. At the end of February loans of £49 were repaid and the club received another £32 in repayments. Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club, which now has £121 to allocate for new loans, has already agreed to further fund the Lendwithcare scheme by £250 and will shortly decide where these available funds should be allocated. At a future meeting Chris said he would be asking for another £250 for Lendwithcare which would bring the total club expenditure to £2,000. He also intends to raise the issue of international appeals from good causes.
